Day 28 in the 30 Paintings in 30 Days Challenge. Watercolor, 6"x6". Spring here is so amazingly beautiful with the flowering cherry trees, the azaleas, and the daffodils and tulips. Seems far away right now. Still some winter to go. The Northeast just got hit with a bad blizzard. Hope there aren't a lot more of those coming this year.
This caught my eye on Leslie's blog...I think it all the horizontal bands with their varied patterns make this piece so appealing to me. I hope you have enjoyed the challenge...
ReplyDeleteThank you, Meredith! I did the horizontal bands as semi-abstract, but my tendency toward tight painting won out again. I will probably try a more abstracted version. Looked at your blog and I love your colorful art--signed up for your blog posts in my email. I'm excited to see someone using oil pastel. I'm reading about it right now and plan to explore it more--maybe use it exclusively in the next challenge in September! I am loving the challenge--it's the boost I need to get me painting on a regular basis. My first one was last September, and I had a hard time keeping up the momentum after. ;)
