Day 6 in the 30 Paintings in 30 Days Challenge. I've had this idea for Vegetable Soup for quite a while--think it will be better as a bigger painting in oil.

Slate-Colored Junco. 4"x4". Watercolor
Day 4 in Leslie Saeta's 30 Paintings in 30 Days Challenge.
This is one of my favorite birds only seen in Georgia in the winter at our feeder--he shows up really
well in the snow.
I've been traveling, and look forward to getting back home in my studio, where I hope I'll have better results with more supplies, especially better watercolor paper.

Nurture. 4"x4" Watercolor
Day 3 in the 30 Paintings in 30 Days Challenge. This is in honor of our daughter-in-law's business, The Nurturing Turtle. It is a family healing center. We're so proud of her.

Day 2 in the 30 Paintings in 30 Days Challenge. This paper is about the same as the Canson. Will try other papers when I'm home.

Over the River and Through the Woods. Watercolor 4"x4" on Canson coldpress 140lb paper
Day 1 of Leslie Saeta's 30 Paintings in 30 Days Challenge, January 2015. I did this challenge in September, all oil paintings on 6"x6" panels. This time I'm going to try watercolor.Today I did a 4"x4" watercolor. I'd like to get better at this medium, and thought this would be a good way to practice. Wow, do I need practice. There will be some real amateur-looking paintings here, but I hope after 30 days I'll see an improvement. This is on Canson cold press paper that I've had for a while. I don't really like the texture--too smooth, and doesn't seem to absorb water well. Will try more with it, maybe soaking the paper first.
