Fresh Air
Day 30 of the 30 Paintings in 30 Days Challenge! Done!
Oil, 6"x 6" on canvas, 1.5" sides painted black. No need to frame.
I was lucky to finish this before I all of a sudden got sick, and ended up posting the photo from my phone in the emergency room! A bug of some sort, or food poisoning, no one knows for sure. Finally back to normal after sleeping for five days.
I really enjoyed the challenge, even though not liking a lot of the results. Will try something new next September!

Amber Waves of Grain
Day 29 of the 30 Paintings in 30 Days Challenge.
Oil, 6"x 6" canvas, 1.5" sides painted black. No need to frame.
Inspired by the lyrics from America the Beautiful--spacious skies, amber waves of grain,
purple mountain majesties. I haven't seen enough of our country, so that's on our list of places
to go. I used to love to sing all the patriotic songs--at school, in Girl Scouts, at camp, even
in public places on holidays. Not enough of that these days.

Free Rangin'
Day 28 of the 30 Paintings in 30 Days Challenge.
Oil, 6"x 6" canvas, 1.5" sides painted black. No need to frame.
Well, phooey! I'm supposed to be improving, but I definitely regressed today. My bad habit of getting into too much
detail is what always gets me in trouble. I should have painted just normal, generic chickens! But, nooooo . . . I had
to go with Buff Orpingtons, which are really beautiful chickens, but you'd never know if from this painting. Some good friends of ours raise these chickens, and I have so many photos of them! I tried to add some grasses and weeds, but it
just made a blurry mess. Live and learn. Only two more paintings to go! SOLD!

Flower Garden
Day 27 of the 30 Paintings in 30 Days Challenge.
Oil, 6"x 6" canvas, 1.5" sides painted black. No need to frame.
I had planned to paint a variety of flowers--I liked the first poppy and painted more.
Now I'm thinking they look more like pansies. So, generic flowers, your choice!

Do You Wanna Make a Snowman?
Day 26 in the 30 Paintings in 30 Days Challenge.
Oil, 6"x 6" canvas, 1.5" sides painted black. No need to frame.
I love snowmen! This one may not be quite as cute as Olaf, but he'll do.

Snow moon
Day 25 in the 30 Paintings in 30 Days Challenge. Oil, 6"x 6" canvas, 1.5" sides painted black. No need to frame. From a photo taken by our daughter in northern Virginia, where they have 40" of snow. This is the moon in the western sky. I'll try this painting again, maybe larger, to get better depth in the landscape. This painting is SOLD.

Skating in the Snow
Day 24 in the 30 Paintings in 30 Days Challenge.
Oil, 6"x 6" canvas, 1.5" sides painted blue. No need to frame.
Outdoor skating can be fun, but hard to learn, especially in the snow!

Pond
Day 23 of the 30 Paintings in 30 Days Challenge.
Oil, 6"x 6" canvas, 1.5" sides painted black. No need to frame.

Will try another version of this!

Farm Country
Day 22 of 30 Paintings in 30 Days.
Oil, 6"x 6" canvas, 1.5" sides painted black. No need to frame.
This looks a lot like The Valley, that I painted on Day 14. It's farm country in the valley! Added some
detail to the fields this time.

This painting is SOLD.

Beyond the Fence
Day 17 of the 30 Paintings in 30 Days Challenge.
Oil, 6"x 6" canvas with 1.5" sides painted black. No need to frame.
Not at all abstract, more impressionistic. But I really enjoyed painting it!
This is the pasture behind our daughter's house in Virginia.
This painting is SOLD!

Wildflower Patches
Day 16 of the 30 Paintings in 30 Days.
Oil, 6"x 6" canvas with 1.5" sides. No need to frame.
I love a field of wildflowers. There are so many ways to paint them, so I did abstract.

Technicolor Snow

The Valley
Day 14 of the 30 Paintings in 30 Days Challenge.
Oil, 6"x 6" canvas, 1.5" sides. No need to frame.
Highway 127 in Tennessee goes through the Sequatchie Valley, and Highway 111 crosses over it and has this wonderful overlook. It's beautiful in all the seasons.

Wisteria Wannabe
Day 13 of 30 Paintings in 30 Days. Oil, 6"x 6" canvas, 1.5" sides painted black. No need to frame.
This experiment of painting abstract landscapes has been quite interesting. I have an idea of what I want to paint, and
the result is nothing like it! I think I rely too much on the reference photos, and should probably use my imagination
more. This painting looks more like octopuses, or snarls of purple spaghetti! Will keep plugging along.
I LOVE wisteria, and enjoy seeing it draped over trees in all the wooded areas around town in the spring. For a noxious weed, it's really beautiful. I know some people plant it on purpose, but most of it is just purple gone wild!

Shenandoah Sunset
Day 12 of the 30 Paintings in 30 Days Challenge.
Oil, 6"x 6" canvas, 1.5" sides painted black. No need to frame.
An abstract version of a beautiful sunset over the Shenandoah Mountains in Virginia.
I just can't resist photographing clouds, skies, and especially sunsets.

Blue Sundown
Day 11 of the 30 Paintings in 30 Days Challenge.
Oil, 6"x 6" canvas with 1.5" sides painted black. No need to frame.
A third of the way through the challenge! This is a sky we saw traveling in Virginia. I'm really fascinated by
clouds and all the forms they can take, and the colors of the sky.

Spring, Azaleas and Golf
Oil, 6"x 6" on canvas, 1.5" sides painted black. No need to frame.
Now that winter is finally bringing really cold weather, I'm thinking of Spring, and gardening for me, golf for my husband.

Underground Landscape
Day 9 in the 30 Paintings in 30 Days Challenge.

Abstract imaginary view of what's below the crust of the earth.
This painting is SOLD!

Field of Weeds
Day 8 of the 30 Paintings in 30 Days Challenge. Oil, 6"x 6" on canvas, 1.5" sides painted black. No need to frame. An empty lot in our neighborhood--the shades of green I used in the middle might make you think it's a river! And I just realized that the green at the top looks more like mountains than the trees and shrubs that it's supposed to be. I'm learning! :)
Winter Sunset
Day 7 of the 30 Paintings in 30 Days Challenge.
Oil, 6"x 6" on canvas, 1.5" sides painted black. No need to frame.
This is the view from our front porch. We miss seeing the sunsets when the trees leaf out.
(Somehow I accidentally deleted this post, so the dates don't match.)
This painting is SOLD!

Tulip Tapestry
Day 5 of the 30 Paintings in 30 Days Challenge.
Oil, 6"x 6" canvas with 1.5" sides painted black. No need to frame.
This subject fit perfectly with my plan to paint abstract landscapes. The aerial view of these Dutch tulips was stunning with all the beautiful colors and patterns. It was fun to paint!

Kennesaw Mountain in Autumn

Oil, 6"x 6" canvas with 1.5" sides painted black. No need to frame.
Last of the Kennesaw Mountain paintings--on to another subject tomorrow!

Kennesaw Mountain in Summer
Day 3 of the 30 Paintings in 30 Days Challenge. Oil, 6"x 6" canvas, 1.5 inch edge painted black. No need to frame. There's a little abstraction in this one--the bright colors in the middle represent all the blooming wildflowers growing all over the acres of Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park, on the mountains, the woods, the meadows and along all the hiking paths. The park is very popular with hikers and Civil War enthusiasts, and is free.

Kennesaw Mountain in Spring
Day 2 of the 30 Paintings in 30 Days challenge.
Oil, 6" x 6" on canvas, edges 1.5" painted black. No frame needed.
Still trying to think more abstractly. It will work better when I choose a new subject, I hope, after I finish with Kennesaw Mountain in the different seasons.
